On the morning of his thirtyseventh birthday, Michael Brown Adam Scott receives a telephone call from his estranged drug addicted brother Tobey Joel Bissonnette. The two travel in an old BMW across Los Angeles in search of Tobeys reason for living, which Michael believes is somethingsomeone deeply personal while Tobey is actually looking for cheap drugs. At various stops, Michael phones his girlfriend, leaving messages professing his love and a desire to spend his birthday together. Tobey eventually informs Michael that his own exgirlfriend called recently, and the two plan to get married as soon as possible. The brothers search leads them through a bizarre, beautiful land filled with surprising, comical characters to a very unexpected and magical destination, complete with Michaels girlfriend and Tobeys fiance.Music features heavily in the film, including songs by numerous Canadian performers, such as D.O.A., Leonard Cohen, and SNFU. ........
